• How could I add a .mp4 video to a page (just as simple as an image) without using Youtube or Vimeo? I want to show looping video’s, a kind of gifs, I have an example but not sure if I’m allowed to insert urls here.

Great that there is a possibility to get help and thank you in advance!

  • Hi Elvirakbenp,

You need to host the video on your server to display it without a third-party video service like Youtube.

Go to your WordPress Media page and click upload.

You need to have the video in mp4 format in your PC, simply upload it using the WordPress Media uploader and it should be added to your Media library.

On the page you wish to add the Video, assuming you use Gutenberg, search for the Video Block and select the video from your media gallary.

This will add the video directly on the page like how mages are, it will be served from your hosting server and you have full control over it.

To loop over the video or autoplay it, click on the Video block and you should see some settings on the right-hand bar to achieve all that.

    Goodluck
