add to cart disappears on variable product pages

  • If you set a default variation then the Add-to-cart button will show.

    If you don’t, then as you say the Add-to-cart won’t show until an option is selected. This is the way the core WooCommerce plugin works.

    Yes, other shopping systems will show the button and give an error or warning if the user proceeds without making a selection, but WooCommerce doesn’t work this way.

    There are lots of themes out there and some may work differently.
