Add to cart button no longer working after update

    Hi there,
    after an update of WC from 6.1.2 to 6.3.1 the add-to-cart buttons are no longer working. Update to WC 6.6.1 did not help. There is no error message, they just lead to themselves instead of the cart.
    I use a spacious child theme, WC version 6.6.1, WordPress Version 6.0. All Plugins are updated. I had all plugins deactivated and I had changed the theme to a standard theme. The cart issue is still there.

    The shop is just for enquiries. Here you can see that the add to cart button (Zum Anfragekorb hinzufügen) is not working.

    I would really be happy if someone could help me with this. I spend the whole weekend looking for a solution and didn’t find anything.

    This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
    The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    I had all plugins deactivated and I had changed the theme to a standard theme. The cart issue is still there.

    It appears that the add to cart button on your site is being generated from Elementor, as seen in the screenshot below:

    Yes, I had Elementor disabled. The problem was still the same.
    The add-to-cart button which is visible, is created with Elementor.
    The add-to-cart button provided by WC itself is not visible in the frontend (see the blank field marked red in the screenshot) above the Elementor button.

    I understand that your ‘add-to cart button is not adding the items to your cart.

    This issue often occurs when your host has some server-side caching running. You would need to contact your hosting and have them exclude your cart, checkout, and my-account pages from caching. Also, if you have a caching plugin, disable caching for these pages.

    From what I understand, the WooCommerce default add to cart button is not displaying however the Elementor add to cart button is displaying.

    Please note that when you have Elementor activated, it will use that plugins add to cart button and will not use the default WooCommerce one, to explain myself a bit better, both add to cart buttons will not display at once. Please provide more clarity if I am still misunderstaning?

    The settings in the screenshot you have provided are those of Elementor, and not the default WooCommerce settings.

    You have mentioned that the default WooCommerce add to cart button is still not visible when deactivating all plugins and using the standard Storefront theme, please could you share a screenshot of what that specific page looks like when having all plugins deactivated and Storefront set as your theme?

    You can clone your site without making any changes to the live site by using the free WP Staging plugin. Should you decide to do this, please could you share a link to the exact page, on your staging site, you have provided previously, with all plugins deactivated and Storefront theme active, so that I can take a closer look?

    I disabled all plugins and switched to Storefront. Still no default add-to-cart button visible. (I did this on a staging site: https://www.zeroclamp.com/staging/produkt/backenadapter-80-100/)

    Thanks for the update.

    I have noticed that your product has no set price which may be the reason for the add to cart button not appearing. You have mentioned that it is for inquiries only however, in order to add an item to the cart, it requires a price, even if that price is set to 0.

    To see if this may be the cause, or to rule this out, please could you add 0 to the items’ price and see if the add to cart button appears on your page?

    I have entered a price of “0” and both add-to-cart buttons (default WC and Elementor) work perfectly well now. I use a catalogue mode plugin and did not think that I need a price to make this work.

    I completely understand where the confusion may have come into play here. In order for a product to be successfully added to the cart, the product will require a price, even if the price is set to 0, which is what was causing the add to cart button to not display in your case.
