• New user here. I noticed that when using the Add to Calendar button on event, none of the export formats include links.

We do lots of virtual events with Zoom links, but even when the Event Website block is set, it isn’t included in the export. I’ve also tried including the link in the event description as HTML, but it looks like the HTML is removed in the export.

How can we include the Zoom link in exports to people’s own calendars?

    Hi @haefele

    Thanks for reaching out.

Could I ask for the URL of your event where the issue persists? I’d like to check it further on my end.

Please also provide the version of the following. This will help me understand how your system is set up.

    • PHP
    • WordPress
    • The Events Calendar
    • Theme

@d0153 thanks for looking into it!

The site isn’t a public one, so I unfortunately can’t link to it.

But I do see the same issue on your preview test sites. I think this one will work for the next couple days:

    https://enviousthrush.build067.wpsandbox.app/event/202/

That event has an HTML link to a zoom call, and also a link in an Event Website block. But all of the Add to Calendar dropdown options export the event without the link.

While I can’t link you to our own private site, here’s info about it:

    • PHP: 8.1.14
    • WordPress: 6.1.1
    • The Events Calendar: 6.0.8
    • Theme: Shift

    Hi @haefele

It seems like you are using PHP 8.1, which we still currently have incompatibilities with our plugins.?

    See the article here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/php-8-support/.

Could you try downgrading your PHP to PHP 8.0 or 7.4 and check if that makes a difference? It would be best to use this version, which we fully support.

Let me know how it goes.

@d0153 While I can’t downgrade our site, I noted that your demo site has the same issue and is running php 7.4.33. I created this test event on your demo site, and it is missing all links when using Add to Calendar:

    Hi @haefele

Thanks for your response. I tried adding the event to my Google calendar and the zoom link was added to the description as expected.

    See- https://share.getcloudapp.com/p9uLvJZ0

For the other calendars, let me check with the team and I’ll get back to you once I have new information.

@d0153 thank you for following up – I apologize that I missed your earlier reply.

Thank you for identifying a fix, and I’ll keep an eye out for updates. I do see the google calendar works, but my employer is a Microsoft client so we all need the Outlook integrations to work.
