Fraudulent account creation attempts get added to my buddyboss group before email verification. How do I set a trigger to add new account to a group after they’ve been approved as a subscriber? Currently, new accounts are added to the group before their email has been verified. Since they don’t verify, they do not successfully subscribe but they show up on the public group directory.

Hi @juliemarie , that is a great question. We do have a trigger for “A user activates a new account via an email invitation” (it is a Pro trigger though). That seems like the right fit for what you’re doing; is that the trigger you’re using now, or what are you using? A recipe screenshot might help. If you need another type of verification to be the trigger, can you provide more context so we’ll know at what point the user could maybe be added to the group?

Wow, thank you for the prompt reply. I think I may have come up with a workaround. Now, when someone successfully logs in 1 time, they are added to the group. This should prevent users without login privileges (ie fake accounts blocked by a security plugin) from showing up in the buddyboss group members as they had when I simply added new subscribers to the group. They might not be added immediately unless verifying a legitimate email address counts as a login.

Hi @juliemarie , sure, that approach works too!

We’ll go ahead and close this ticket, but let us know if we can help with anything else.
