Add the padding/margin feature back to images

  • If I wanted to hard code margins, padding and borders into every picture I wouldn’t be using WordPress.
    Wow. What unbelievable arrogance. Do you understand that the idea of an upgrade is to IMPROVE a product, not to cripple it? It’s not about providing makework for programmers either!
    I use the margin/border feature on every site I manage (dozens) multiple (dozens) times a day and you just increased my workload EXPONENTIALLY.
    Just because the [moderated] at wordpress.com don’t use it doesn’t mean that applies to professionals.
    And I want the ability to redirect the image source from the image editing window back too.
    UNBELIEVABLE.
    I am SO angry.
    And no I don’t want to add more plugins to sites (to DOZENS of sites) to replace a feature that YOU took out. Especially since the more plugins, the slower the site.
    ARGGH!!!!!

    I just tried the plugin everyone is so “grateful” for. It doesn’t have the same functionality as the image features that YOU TOOK OUT of the WordPress core.

    I am now officially scouting for a replacement for WordPress – you obviously are starting down the path of catering to the least common denominators and completely disregarding the needs of the developers who work with WordPress on many sites as a workday activity. I know you won’t miss me, that the individual user means nothing to you, but you certainly now have at least one fewer member of the WordPress fan club.

    I’m not a developer, but I have the same need of rapidly adjusting the margins, padding, and borders of images on pages and posts. I never anticipated that the so-called “new and improved” image editing capabilities of WP3.9 would actually be a significant downgrade from 3.8! I’m putting together a single page right now with over a dozen images that need css tweaking. Now that I have to do it by hand it is taking forever! Who decided to cripple the image editing features in WP? My experience with v3.9 is so bad that I recommend no one upgrade until this issue is resolved.

    Andrew, you’re not really addressing the larger emotional concerns she is voicing. I’m sure you have many people to reply to, but if so many people are voicing concerns so much, perhaps someone at WordPress should address it outright.

    Andrew’s just trying to help, please don’t criticize the support people give here unless it’s detrimental because these forums can take all the support they can get.

    I understand, and I wasn’t trying to be malicious. I was merely pointing out that Karelles’ post could be addressed in a way that is more constructive to deescalating her understandable emotions.
