I agree with these suggestions. Just to add: would it also be possible to have an option where one would select whether to force login with email only? After 47 bruteforce attempts on my site within the past 24 hours, I realised that the bots were trying to guess usernames.

I also support the 2-factor authentication feature (one-time password).

All in all, the plugin deserves a 5 star. Fine workmanship indeed!

@ian_maliseniyahoocom, thank you for reaching out to us.

After 47 bruteforce attempts on my site within the past 24 hours, I realised that the bots were trying to guess usernames.

There are a couple of features in the plugin that will help prevent the above mentioned bruteforce attacks. Let me know if you have the following features enabled.

Feature 1 = Go to WP Security -> Brute Force -> Rename Login Page to enable the following option Enable Rename Login Page Feature.

Feature 2 = Go to WP Security -> Firewall -> Basic Firewall Rules -> WordPress XMLRPC & Pingback Vulnerability Protection to enable one of the following security options.

    Completely Block Access To XMLRPC:
    Disable Pingback Functionality From XMLRPC:

With the above features enabled, it will stop or reduce brute force attacks in your site from bots and intruders.

Let me know if you need more information or help.

    Kind regards
