Add support for Yoast primary category (code included)

  • I just wrote a little plugin that adds support for Yoast primary categories.

    Basically, it overrides the categories layout option and brings the Yoast primary category to the top of the list (if the plugin is installed).

    I just wanted to limit the category to 1 and be confident that it would be my primary (its just alpha sorted by default).

    It’s a very niche plugin so I thought I would just share it here as a gist in case its useful to anyone.

    We’re working on the block version of our Post Grid, and of course, we’ll include supports for Yoast primary categories.
