Add support for Woocommerce Coming Soon Page

As mentioned in the WooCommerce doc, it’s fully customizable in the Site Editor. Astra is a Classic Theme and Classic Theme doesn’t work with Site Editor. It works only with Full Site Editing (FSE) themes, like Twenty Twenty-Two.

You will find the same thing on the default WooCommerce theme, Storefront, as Storefront is also a Classic Theme.

Hi, that doesn’t resolve the issue. This is functionality you should be looking to either support, or provide an alternative for.

I am not sure either I didn’t explain it well or you don’t understand my explanation, or I misunderstood what the WooCommerce doc says.

There’s nothing to be resolved here, as there’s no issue. That’s how the WooCommerce Coming Soon page works. If you would like it works also for Classic Themes, you need to start a new thread on WooCommerce forum and post your request there.

As an alternative, you can:

• Use a “Coming Soon” plugin that is also available on WordPress plugin repository
• If you have our Spectra plugin, you can use its Coming Soon mode
• Switch the theme to an FSE theme, like our Spectra One

I understood your reply. I was saying that you should look to add this functionality to your theme, or upgrade it so it is compatible. It means not having to have yet another plugin on the site.

It looks like there’s been a bit of confusion. The WooCommerce Coming Soon mode is only customizable when you are using a Full Site Editing (FSE) theme. Since Astra is a classic theme, making it compatible with this feature would require converting Astra into an FSE theme, which isn’t something we have planned.

The customization for WooCommerce Coming Soon mode would need to be adapted to work with classic themes instead.
