Add static website into a separate folder under WordPress Installation

    Hello, I have a WP install in root of domain.com but I want to add static HTML that has nothing to do with WP in a folder domain.com/subsite

    So I will create a folder in root/subsite and upload the files but do I have to modify the .htaccess file right to avoid wordpress creating stuff on this subdir?

    How can I do that? Or Im doing it wrong?

  • You can just create a subdirectory (at the same level as wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes) and that’s it. WordPress won’t even know it’s there — no meddling with .htaccess needed!
