Add Social Media Buttons

Hello, I am trying to add the social media icon buttons to my main page: whether it’s underneath my top tagline, in my primary menu, or at the bottom in the footer. I cannot figure out how. When I choose a block in the footer for example, and choose Instagram, it is only letting me embed the URL, and it’s showing up as the actual URL instead of the Instagram icon button.
