I would like adjust it some and make a search icon that expands when clicked. Similar to what is used on this site when logged in.

@bb-4 – Sorry for the delayed response. Actually this is something that falls under theme customization and you’d need to edit the PHP/HTML/CSS of the theme to accommodate for that.
