• Can anyone help me with the instructions/code to add a search field (icon) on the primary menu location and/or on the pre-header menu location with minamaze theme.

I know how to add the default minamaze theme search field here…
    Admin panel> Appearance> Customize> Theme Options> Header> Control Header Content> Enable Search

… but i want to do something similar as done on this site (https://www.livingfornaptime.com/?s=)
-> referring to the search icon/field functionality added to the end of the top menu location.

i’m currently still working on local host, not live yet and still learning about WP and CSS, please assist me – how can i do or add this.

  • Hi there,

You will need to customize the theme for this. You can also consult with a developer.

    Thanks!

i thought that is what css does. is it that difficult to add the magnifying glass in place of the text “search” – even where the default search field is placed by the theme. how about adding a search field on a page dedicated to searching for the product you are looking for?

i figured out out how to add a search field on/within page text – using elementor page builder no worries.

still however need instruction on how to display magnifying glass not the standard field box and search wording as created by minamaze/WP but if this is too difficult for beginners like me then i understand…

can you maybe just assist me with basic css or instructions how to make the search field in my pre header menu location display better & improve the visibility of it. It’s not really standing out – can i change the background colour of the search field/block to white?
