    Hi,
I just started testing Matomo Analytics (the new plugin) and like it so far. Is there a way to add Matomo report widgets to the WordPress dashboard? E.g. show “Visits over Time” for 30 days comparing to previous period?
If not in the standard, can this be achieved with some custom code or are there plans to include that in future versions?
    BR, Andreas

Hi @awilmsmeier thanks for asking and bringing up this feature request. Very appreciated.

I’ve created an issue for this here: https://github.com/matomo-org/wp-matomo/issues/277

And I’ve also already created one simple dashboard widget that shows number of visits over the last 14 days (but doesn’t compare it to previous period and doesn’t show it in a graph just yet see the issue #277 where we will be looking into this). It’s here and will be included in the next release: https://github.com/matomo-org/wp-matomo/pull/278

Until we have the full version you’ll need to enable it in your wp-config.php by setting define( 'MATOMO_SHOW_DASHBOARD_WIDGETS', true );.

I hope this helps for now. Otherwise it might also help to bookmark the Matomo Reporting page which shows a configurable dashboard but fully understand it’s not the same.

    Does this help for now?

    Hi,
that is helpful for now. I’m only starting with Matomo so I can wait for the final version to become available.
    Thanks for your quick response.

Hi @awilmsmeier just wanted to let you now can pin a report from the Matomo summary page to the WordPress dashboard. Simply select the date you prefer in the top and then pin a report. You can also pin the same report for different dates.

    Hi,
Thanks, that works – looking forward to the full version (e.g. with some graphical representations and comparison to previous periods)…
    Best regards,
    Andreas

PS: In the Matomo Dashbaord – is there a way to save filters and comparison flags? Seems like saving the dashboard does not save those settings? I’d like to always see current month vs. previous month when I enter the Matomo dashboard.
(Not a showstopper, of course, just convenience)

@awilmsmeier it’s not possible just yet. Be indeed quite valuable though. Created an issue for this here: https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo/issues/15992

Great, looking forward to having that feature in Matomo.
Would those widgets (with the saved settings) become available in the WordPress Admin Dashboard as well?

In the WordPress Admin Dashboard this would likely not come available any time soon unfortunately. We’ll have a look though.
