If I install the External Links plugin – can i easily configure a “rel:sponsored” attribute to ALL of my afilliate links? I believe this is essential and have 1000’s of such links that are not listed as sponsored links. Manually it would take me weeks, i am looking for plugin that handles as a bulk edit for that function. Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Yes, you can add the “sponsored” for the rel attribute using WP External links.
Just check the “sponsored” checkbox under the External Links -> Also add to rel attribute option ??

Thanks – I saw that option when I had downloaded the plugin (and before I removed it) but my question is how do i “bulk add” the rel attribute “sponsored” to every single affiliate link on my site – Do you show step by step instructions in the plugin or have a URL link to help me with that? Also, Do i “Uncheck all the other no-follow attributes when performing that setup? thanks gain

    Hi,

The External Links Settings apply to ALL External Links (except any that you exclude in the Exceptions tab of the Settings).
Values for the rel attribute are only added if they don’t exist though. If they exist in the HTML and you want to remove them, you will need to edit the HTML.

    Hi There

Ok I went ahead and uploaded the plugin – and checked the box “sponsored”. However, when I click on technical info under it does list all “plugins” it will override but doesn’t list any external links (ie; Amazon).
How can i confirm that the external link plugin is providing “sponsored” attribution to Amazon type external links – successfully?
    Thanks again!
