How do I add a reCaptcha to the data request form that is contained in the Opt-Out Preferences page created by Complianz? Our website it getting hit with Bot traffic of fake/SPAM Opt-Out Data Requests which is causing a lot of issues, including our mail provider temporarily blocking our email sending capabilities due to the amount of traffic.
The solution does not have to be reCaptcha, but there is no reCaptcha on that form and I just need something in place to have a verification they are a human. It may be a setting I am just not seeing. Please help! Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @elcheapoflags,

Fastest way for now is going to the opt-out preferences page, and under document status in the right hand column (Classic editor) for Gutenberg click on the block itself.

Here you can change it to ‘edit document and stop synchronization’. Delete the form itself here.

Then proceed to add your own form (e.g. with shortcode from WP Forms) with the same details, but with reCaptcha.

As an example, as you form will be gone: https://cookiedatabase.org/legal/opt-out-preferences/

We’re currently using a honeypot for bots, so I will have a look at other solutions. Thanks, regards Aert

Thanks Aert Hulsebos (@aahulsebos). That was a perfect fast and temporary fix. I was able to delete the first section from the page (“Introduction” through to the form itself). I left all other Complianz auto-generated text that was originally there that was after that first section (“Introduction”). I then added the Instruction back in (a block), then my customized form that has SPAM protection and reCaptcha built in (a second block). Of course the only issue is trying to keep the cookies sync’d with Complianz since it won’t sync on a go forth basis since I changed the form. Are you able to put the reCaptcha (or similar) added to the form onto a list of requested Complianz Plugin Updates?

    Hi @elcheapoflags,

Glad to hear it works for you. You could still embed the “synced” version of the Cookie/Service List and the “Manage Consent” toggles on your ‘custom’ Cookie Policy, by using the shortcodes.

You can use [cmplz-cookies] for the Cookie List & [cmplz-manage-consent] for the category Consent Toggles.

    Kind regards, Jarno
