Hi, when editing my template, within my post excerpt for my post loop on the first page, I get the message, ‘Add “read more” link text’.

I’ve searched the forums, googled it, and I just can’t figure out how to add this?

    Please help.

  • I’m looking for the same

I double clicked on the ‘Add “read more” link text’ text and writted what I wanted to be the text for the “read more” link. That worked.

Thanks fluffywhatsoever. Unfortunately, double clicking didn’t work…

At least it doesn’t show up on the front end of the site, but it’d be nice to throw in a button or link there. I guess I could just edit the function.php file, but I was hoping to avoid this or any extra plugins.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

I did a little video for you

I think you just have to click on the text and start write what you want

@fluffywhatsoever YOU ARE THE BEST! That worked! Thank you sooooo much! As someone who is a full stack web developer, this was way too hard. I guess the issue is that it doesn’t place a cursor there, so you have no idea that it’s waiting for input.

A MILLION KUDOS TO YOU MY FRIEND!

Thank you! I thought I was going crazy!
