    Hi,

in the checkout of my Shop is a country dropdown. On default the USA is automatically selected already. How to just have a placeholder with “select your country” instead?
I couldn’t find any solution to this topic somebody have any idea?

I would appreciate any help or tips!

  • Hey @norristh3,

You can leave the country drop-down blank if you’d like. Here’s how to do that:

    • Go to WooCommerce > Settings > General.
    • Look for the General Options and find the “Default customer address” drop-down.
    • Change the drop-down to have “No location by default.” no location
    • Save your changes.

At checkout, that will have an empty drop-down for the country like this:

    country

That wouldn’t add in a placeholder, but it would remove the default. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers
