Add option to reuse fields

I have several products where customers can choose from different select lists with styling options. There are about 10-15 select lists I use but in different combinations. For example:
Product 1 with list 1, 2, 3 and 4
Product 2 with list 1, 2, 3 and 5
Product 3 with list 6, 2, 3 and 4
Because I have to define the field at the product or product category level I have to recreate the fields for every unique combination of fields.

What I would love to see is the possibility to create a list of fields and at the product or product category level define which fields from that list I like to use.

If in the example above the options for list 2 change, now I have to change 3 products. If it would be possible to define the field with select options at a higher level I only have to edit list 2 at one place.
