I have linked Google Optimise to my analytics account. In order to run experiments I need to install Optimise to my website.

Is there a function in your plugin that will add the code? Or do I have to add the code manually? And if so, where can I add it since I use your plugin.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Hi,

See the Optimize section under Tracking Code -> Integration screen.

    Hi Alin,

Thank you for your quick respons. I switched on “enable Optimize tracking” and “enable Page Hiding support”. I filled in the container ID as well but I still get the message in Optimize: Optimize installation verified with errors

So I click on the button “run diagnostics”.

This is the message I get:

We found problems with the Optimize installation on this page
Refer to the diagnostics below to fix problems and troubleshoot any issues with your installation. Learn more about diagnostics .
    Errors
    Optimize plugin not found
The web page doesn’t have Optimize plugin for the container ID (GTM-5477RQS) installed. You can still use the visual editor to create variants but you can’t use Preview mode to test them and visitors won’t see your experiment. To run an experiment you must first install Optimize .

    Analytics tracking code not found
The web page isn’t tagged with Google Analytics tracking code for the Analytics property (UA-60021194-1) configured for this experiment. You won’t be able to measure usage of your site or monitor the performance of Optimize experiments. To run experiments, you must first install the Analytics tracking code (either analytics.js or gtag.js ).

    Suggestions
    Page-hiding snippet not found
You haven’t installed the page-hiding snippet and your visitors may experience page flicker, where they briefly see the original page before your experiment loads. This can skew your experiment results and confuse visitors.

    Hi,

That’s because you use the tool while being logged in and probably excluding tracking for certain roles, as Administrator. Always run your tests in an Incognito/Private browser window.
