I wanted a product where users select each ingredient used in making the product and all the composite/bundle plugins weren’t offering exactly what I wanted, So I created a Woocommerce product and a webpage with mainly HTML, CSS, and js where the user selects the ingredients for each step. Now I want to add the product to the user’s cart but also save whatever ingredient or information the user picked. I have tried WC()->cart->add_to_cart( $productId ) but there’s no place to store what ingredients the user selected, or who they want to send it to etc.

Have you tried ‘Grouped Products’? It is perfect for letting a customer add several similar products from a range to their cart in one go. Here is an example of a grouped product:

For Product Data you’ll need to select Grouped product. You can read more here about setting it up.

I understand that you want to have a provision to save a reference of the ingredients selected, etc. This article provides some solutions in this regard: https://avada.io/woocommerce/docs/add-customer-notes-to-order.html

Kindly be informed that support for customization is beyond the scope of support we are able to provide in this forum. This particular forum is for questions that are related to the WooCommerce core features.

For help with custom code we recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

Lastly, for direct assistance with code customizations, we recommend consulting with the WooCommerce Customizations Partners. https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

Nevertheless, I’m going to leave this thread open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out here.

    Cheers

We’ve not heard back from you, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, the above info was helpful.
