I am building a Senior Citizens website and not all of the users have an email address, but have a user name and Member No.. I would like to be able to enter their info without having to use an email address to do so for those without email addresses. Can the email requirement be changed from “required” to “not required”, and if so how.

    Thanks

  • It’s a bit of a hassle to change the functionality and make email addresses optional instead of mandatory.

I would suggest to just enter some placeholder email address — it doesn’t have to be valid.

For example, if the Member No is 236, you could just enter [email protected] or something.

I know it doesn’t exactly answer your question but I would say it’s an easy workaround. ??

    Thanks Senff,

That’s something I probably would never have thought of and best of all it worked. Now all I have to do is enter approx. 1300 names and numbers. I’ve already tested entering names and numbers and it’ almost as fast to type them in as it is to copy and paste from the member database, but still a big “OUCH” because I’m not a very fast typist. I figure it will take 13-15 days.

    Thanks again for your help

    Tom
