  • So you can’t hover over the left-hand menu title ‘Plugins’ and see the ‘Add New’ pop up?

    Could you send a screenshot?

    On www.remarpro.com?
    I don’t see a left-handed menu at all.
    Just the menu up top.

If you click the site title at the top you should go to your dashboard which looks like the screenshot in this link, note the ‘plugins’ button on the left menu: Dashboard Screenshot

When I click the site title at the top, it only changes the image in the upper-left hand corner and does not take me to my dashboard.

The sure-fire way to get into your dashboard is to go to yoursite.com/wp-admin

There you can enter your username and password and will land in the dashboard which should look like the screenshot I linked you to.

That worked! It let me to my dashboard!
Unfortunately, the “plug in” button seems to be missing.
    Refer to screenshot-
(I don’t know how to add an attachment here.)

Ok then you are most likely not an ‘administrator’ role on the site—only admins can add/delete plugins. So whoever the main administrator is for the site will have to increase your role.

    It’s my site.
    It SAYS I’m the administrator.
    There’s nobody else but me.
    <THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT>

UPDATE: I talked to someone on WordPress’s instant chat.
Although NONE of it STILL makes ANY SENSE,
    Here’s what he told me.
    1. That there is a difference between wordpress.com, and www.remarpro.com.
    2. THEN he told me, the “plugin” option would only become available AFTER I got my domain (which I purchased FROM WordPress) HOSTED BY SOMEBODY ELSE.
Fine, I say. WHATEVER you say.
So I purchase a webhost, dreamhost, I believe it’s called.
And now, I’m just waiting for some more support regarding the matter.
    Any insight appreciated.

To get a wordpress plugin, you need a wordpress website.

To get a wordpress website you need to buy a domain and a host and install wordpress. Usually the host will offer you the domain along with the hosting so that makes it’s simpler. There are also hosts that have quick links that helps you install wordpress in a few clicks of a button.

Whoever you host is, they would probably have tutorials or their customer service could walk you through their interface to get wordpress installed since wordpress is pretty popular.

I forgot how exactly to set up your wordpress but a quick youtube search would probably yield very helpful tutorials.

UPDATE: I talked to someone on WordPress’s instant chat.

Does this mean that your site is on WordPress.COM? www.remarpro.com doesn’t offer any sort of live chat.

If so, that’s why you can’t install plugins. You can only install pluigns on a self-hosted site using the software from www.remarpro.com.

    It’s a very common mistake. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Perhaps I’m having trouble because I don’t know how to install www.remarpro.com? I received the zip files full of information, but I don’t see an “exe” file. How do I install it properly?
