Add New Page

The WP database was partially lost and had to be restored. The restore has been completed but the backup was several months old. When we try to add a new page (or post) we’re getting an error that says: “You are currently editing the page that shows your latest posts” and the text entry panel does not display. The field on the And New Page screen that shows the page id has a zero value: “(This Page’s ID: 0)”. The highest existing post id in the ws_posts table is currently 2602 so I wouldn’t expect a new page to have a value of zero. Any ideas?
