Add New Category button adds, but only after refresh of page

I added the Category Shortcode plugin in order to list my excerpts of categories on an internal page – and I edited the plugins PHP page to reflect the look and feel of the normal Category Archive layout.

However, now when I go in to add a category, I enter the info and click Add New Category – nothing happens. But if I refresh the page, the category is there! The info stays in the dialogue boxes until I click on CATEGORIES in the menu bar and that refreshes the page and empties the boxes. Then I can continue, but it’s obviously an annoying problem.

I haven’t noticed any other problems with any action on adding new posts or updating pages. Just on the categories page. Any help would be appreciated! I ran Firebug and didn’t get any Java errors either.
