• I would love to add a “Mute” button on the site-wide activity page next to the “Comment” and “Favorite” buttons. Not only would it make the process more streamlined but many users might not be aware of this great feature without seeing it there. (Most users wouldn’t visit the profile of someone they want to ignore).

Would you consider adding this to the next update or if there is some code that I could insert somewhere to do this, that would also be greatly appreciated.

The problem with this idea is it might not be clear to users what exactly they’re muting.

Imagine if a button is displayed next to a member (how the plugin currently works). It’s clear to the user that they are muting that particular member.

Now imagine if a button appears next to an activity item. The user might think they’re muting that particular type of activity item (let’s say change profile photo). But this isn’t the case, because it’s the user who posted that activity item that gets muted.

You make a good point. A few ideas if you do decide to add a mute button in the activity feed:

    1) Re-label the button from “Mute” to “Mute @username

    2) Add a tool-tip that pops up a message (upon hovering the mute button) with “Hide All Posts From @username (or from THIS MEMBER)” or something along those lines.

    2) Pop-up a confirmation message like “Hide All Comments From @username?” YES/CANCEL

Thanks for the prompt reply & a great plugin. No need to reply to this one, just wanted to pass along the suggestions in case they are relatively easy to implement.

    Thanks for these suggestions.

I think that one would solve the problem quite well.

I’ll add this to my to-do-list of enhancements.
