Add Multiple Categories Per Listing

    I have seen the post suggesting/requesting the ability to list an entry with multiple categories. I think this would be a strong addition to an already solid plugin.

    If I can add, this may work very well by incorportating the ability to TAG listings with the inclusion of widgets to pull out listings as the category ones currently do. Also searching via TAG.

    TAGs would give the ability to expand the listing without complicating CATEGORIES.

    Sure, we will release an add-on to add a listing in multiple categories. And also thanks for your valuable suggestion to TAG listings with the inclusion of widgets and certainly we take note of it and add this in future.

    Hi,

    You may want to investigate this method.
    I did it accidentally and realised the ads were appearing (in the back end at least) in more than one category.

    Go to ‘classified and director>all listing’
    choose at least 2 ads by ticking boxes (if you wanted to change just one ad, you may need to make a dummy ad for this purpose)
    choose to ‘edit’ these ads.
    When you get the multiple edits to come up, then select categories as you need.

    this way the backend shows the ads as being in multiple categories
    personally, I didn’t want this so just edit them out again, so I never tried if it was true for the front end.
    Maybe post here if it is true.

    I work for a charity and this plugin is invaluable to my support line workers as a resource database. Alas it isn’t public due to the nature of the content otherwise I’d show it off.

    Is there any movement on the inclusion of multiple categories or the addtion of tags?

    I have used a number of other directory solutions and on balance prefer yours. I would prefer to keep using it too but the ability to list something in more than one category is essential.
