Add metaboxes for custom post types?

is there a way to create custom tabbed metaboxes inside custom post type edit pages?

Admin Page Framework has built-in tabbed sections functionality so you may use that. I’ve posted example plugins on Gist. You may check them up. They require the demo plugin to be installed.

I have started to look through your other answers that you gave me a few minutes ago, and I will be looking at embedding the framework into a theme. With the above answer am I to understand that I cannot have tabbed sections in metaboxes in pages / posts / CPT’s without installing the demo plugin?

If you include the framework file (admin-page-framework.min.php), you don’t need to install the demo plugin.
