    Hello,

I am using Filester for a website with a custom media library where one group of users should have no connection or permission to view or modify the files of other groups, this was first priority. Filester is perfect for this. I created a folder /wp-content/userfiles and work only inside this folder and its subfolders.

Now, the customer wants (searchable) Meta-Information, like the description text and tags that you can find on the normal media folder /wp-content/uploads.

Because somewhere I read that FileBird integrates nicely with Filester, I downloaded that, hoping I can use this for my /userfiles folder. But I cannot change the base path, it uses /uploads.

Is there a possibility to get meta information or tags to the content of my /userfiles (Filester) folder, with either Filester or FileBird or the 2 together?

    Thanks!

    Hi @gerdski ,

    Thanks for coming here today!

If I understand you correctly, based on your needs, you had decided to create an independent path for media file upload:

    /wp-content/userfiles

But then, the files you added in that path does not bear meta informations as the files in the normal WordPress path does:

    /wp-content/uploads

So, now you hope that either of our plugins could help make your files bear these information?

Also, may I know if the files in your custom path are visible at the WordPress media library section?

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Yes.

No, they are not, only in the File Manager -> File Manager section

    Hi @gerdski ,

Please note that this plugin is written based on the elFinder library, but as far as it is concerned, it does not support this function:

    Thank you!

Thanks for your answer. I expected that.

But I found another solution: Adding a textfile to each folder…there I can store the Information ??
