Add meta data to the post result

Is there any chance to add meta data to the post result before they get into the loop.

The thing is that my custom post type retrieves data from a third party website every time the page loads and I want to add the result to my custom posts output.

At the moment I do it within the loop in my theme but I would prefer a filter.
