Add Media from an FTP server?

I believe that plugin works for adding files uploaded to your WP server via ftp

You are uploading to an external server? I’m not sure the plugin can handle that

I’m uploading to my WP website, from a FTP site.

Not sure what external means in this context. I’m not the best at computers.

are you using an ftp server, or client?

an ftp server is a repository for files, a place to put them. A client is the program/interface you use to do it.

And your server is where your wp files are kept.

So for instance, I would use my ftp client (filezilla in my case) to upload large files to my wp-content/uploads directory on my server…. that’s where WP keeps uploaded files

Then I would use that plugin to be able to find them on my server

oh, okay. How do I get to the wp-content/uploads directory for my server? I use cyber duck.

just use the ftp program to log on to your server….

most likely by pointing it at ftp://domain.com
domain being whatever your website is, username and password being whatever you have set up with your host

once logged on to your server you’ll just navigate to wp-content, then uploads
