• hi,
i just installed wp 2.9.2 in a windows server, and i had no problems during the installation or to run the blog, but when i try to add a new post, the various add image, video, and so on buttons are disabled, both in ie8 and firefox 3.6.
do i need to install something more?

    best regards,
    luca morelli

  • Is this a complete new install or are there plugins installed as well. If it is the later, you might try resetting the plugins folder

complete new install. unzipped the zip file un run the install

You didn’t happen to install WordPress MU, did you? File uploads are disabled by default in MU unless you explicitly allow them.

i installed the italian version, and created manually the wp-content/uploads directory.
i just noticed a few things, more related to html than other: add media buttons are disbaled, but screen settings and help menu on the top doesn’t show anything when clicked, and editing an article i cannot switch from visual and html.
seems almost a javascript problem, but i tried with ie 8 and firefox 3.6

i’m able to upload files in the image library, so i don’t think the problem are the permissions in the wp-content
