Add media box not working correctly

  • Something weird is going on with the Add Media box. I’ve uploaded some images into the media library. When I am in a post and want to add an image I click on the upload button which opens the Add Media box. I then click on Media Library and I can see the 6 pages of images. Normally when I click on say page 2 it shows the images in page 2 but whatever page I click on it opens the From Computer tab. I have other sites with the latest version of WordPress and they work fine so not sure what it could be. Any ideas anyone? I can search for an image if I know the name of it but ideally want to be able to click on the page!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    thanks for the suggestions. i’ve tried all of them but doesn’t seem to work still. could it be related to the hosting account/server etc. do you think? the client is using fasthosts which i’ve not used before. never seen this happen before so that’s the only thing i can think of.

    i also manually loaded this as the hosts suggested as they didn’t offer an upload like some hosts do. again, i’ve done this before with no problems so not sure where the problem comes from …

    It sounds like a redirection issue at the host’s end.
