Add Links not adding / loading

    The Link part is not working. The preview works but after you click “add link” it does not load or does not appear in the feed wall. I turned off all plugins. I think it may have an issue or conflict with the newest version of the Divi Theme. It is strange because it sometimes does work… Like rarely but it sometimes does come add/load. not sure what has changed to make it stop working..

    I could reproduce the issue with the Divi theme 3.0.85 and flagged this issue to my developers. Once there will be a hot-fix we will update this thread.

    Hi,

    I’m having the same issue with the link button not publishing the link. Preview works fine but it will not publish to the activity feed.

    I am NOT using Divi theme.

    I did notice that it will work if I make the user an Admin role, any role less than Admin, the link option will not work. Video and image buttons do work.
    I just updated to 4.9
    And I haven’t yet tested for other plugin conflict.
    Running an off the shelf .org theme.

    Maybe this will provide a piece to the puzzle.

    Here’s an update:
    I did get the link button to post when I checked off the “No Thumbnail” checkbox.
    @digitaljoe Did you try this? Did it post for you with no thumbnail? Any updates?

    What would be conflicting with this if it works with Admin user role but nothing lesser, and posts only when “no thumbnail” is selected, regardless of user role?

    Let me explain one thing, according to forum guide it’s better to open new thread for your issue;

    Unless users have the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme, and configurations, then the odds are the solution for one user will not be the same for another. For this reason, we recommend people start their own topics.

    About your question, I tried the plugin with latest WordPress and default Twenty Seventeen theme. It works normally with any user role. So most probably there can be a plugin conflict or theme conflict. Can you make these tests? You just need to deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress Activity Plus. And if the problem continues, try changing the theme to default one.
