    Hi,

    thanks for your question.

Creating links in a table cells is easily possible with the “Insert Link” button below the table input fields.
However, to open these links in a lightbox, you will need an extra plugin. Such a functionality is not part of TablePress. If you find a plugin that can open links in a Lightbox, it should however be no problem to have the links in table cells.

    Hy Tobias,

I have a question somehow related to the above subject. I want to publish a tablepress table in a lightbox. Is that possible? Do you know any lightbox plugin that could be compatible with tablepress short codes? Or do you have any advice on this?

    Thank you in advance,

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

yes, that should be possible, but it is tricky.
Most lightbox plugins that I know can only show images in a lightbox or iframes.
Iframes are tricky here, as there’s no real URL for a page with just the table that can be shown in the iframe. A better approach should therefore be a lightbox solution that can move another element from the page into the the lightbox (“inline”). Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a plugin that allows this, right now. Sorry.

    Tobias

    Hy Tobias,

Thank you for the prompt replay. I found this tutorial of publishing content as inline from a page: https://www.endocreative.com/how-to-insert-content-in-a-popup-using-lightbox-plus-for-wordpress/

Do you think this could work?

    Hi,

yes, that should work. You’ll basically just have to put the TablePress Shortcode in the place where there’s

    <p>This content will be in a popup.</p>

    in that example.

    Tobias

I will try it and will come back with update, thank you.

    Hy Tobias,

I have a picture in my page and I want that when I click on the picture to open this lightbox with the table. I have assigned an URL to the picture, but I cannot figure it out how to combine it to work… ??

    Hi,

sorry, I can’t really help with that ?? This is an issue with that Lightbox plugin and I suggest that you ask in that plugin’s support forums.

    Hy Tobias,

Is there a way to establish the column width of just a certain row in a table?
For example I want to have column 3 in row 4 width of 200px, but the rest of the cell in other rows to remain the same size as they were.

Can you help me out with a CSS for that pls?

    Thank you,

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

no, that’s not possible, due to how tables in browsers work. The width in table cells will always be equal in a column.
Now, could you please post a link to the page with the table where you want to change this, and explain where and why you want this? Maybe I can suggest an alternative solution.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hy Tobias,

Thanks for the replay, I sort of solved the problem by combining cells with rowspan and got the final result. Good to know though what are the possibilities.

    Hi Robert,

ok, if your solution required rowspan/colspan, then that’s the only solution really.
Otherwise, I had thought of maybe adding a wrapping container around the cell content and restricting the width of that. The other cells would still not change then, though.

    Regards,
    Tobias
