• Surely there’s a way to do this. I haven’t found it but I’m hoping there’s a better way.

I have to upload many PDF files twice a year to a page on my website. I need those PDFs to be a WordPress Link so tthat I can show them all on one page/post using WP-Blogroll plugin.

Right now I have to upload the PDF one by one and then create the Links, one by one.

Is there a way (plugin or otherwise) to do something like this:

Upload a PDF into the Media Library and from that screen add the WordPress Link instead of leaving the Media Library and going to the Link Library to add the link.

It’s a tedious two-step process that I’m sure someone has found a solution to by now.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how to do this more efficiently, please?

    Thank you!

  • Hi Christi,

I don’t know the answer to this one off the top of the my head. I never tried extending the media library. I will do a bit of research over the next few days and will let you know what I find.

Thank you! It sure seems like this would be something others would have asked for before me. I’m hoping there is a solution. It would save me tons of time!

    Thanks again, Yannick!

    Hi Christi,

I did a bit of research and there are indeed hooks that could be used to automatically create a link as you upload and edit new media.

Beyond saying that you want a link to be created (checkbox), would you also see yourself selecting the category in which the link should be added?

Would the name of the link be the same as the media title?

Now that I see this as being possible, thanks for providing a bit more on how you think this could be used so I do it right the first time.

    Thanks,

    Yannick
