Add imported images to wp media library?

  • Is there anyway to automatically add the imported images into the WordPress media library so I can edit alt text and whatnot more easily?

    I have hundreds of images that I would be importing and to go in and edit all of the alt text manually would be a lot of work.

    I am comfortable with modifying the plugin for this purpose if you know a way that this could be achieved.
