• I’d like to place an html code (hyperlinked image) at the top of my blog column. I don’t want to use a sticky post since it has the date, author, social media plugins, etc. I’m just interested in the banner going up there for blog visitors to see before they scroll down through the rest of the blog posts. Is there a plugin or other simple way I can create and update this as needed (alternative to a sticky post)?

  • Try adding the image markup to your theme’s index.php template file.

If I update WP or my theme (Genesis) will I need to redo that option? I’m hoping for something simple to change but not in need of redoing.

Can anyone else chime in on this topic?

Is there a simple way to do this without losing the info to an update?

If not, could someone help me understand exactly where something like this would be placed?
