• Hi,
I have a bit of an odd scenario in that I want to affect the permalink structure of only a handful of pages to display as “.htm”. We have migrated an old site into WordPress yet there are some Google Ads running that have the “.htm” extension. Due to the client’s needs, a 301 redirect is an unacceptable solution. It’s also not possible to create static HTML versions of the pages in question. So currently, I am only able to make this happen for all pages via the permalink settings.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to make this happen only for some pages?

  • I know you said 301 redirects are not acceptable but that is the only way I know of to fix the problem you are likely having with Google Ads if you do not want to add htm to all pages using permalink settings. This is a result of how WP handles the permalinks it is an all or none thing. If you need some then 301 redirects is the way to go.
