    Hi all:

I am trying to have my posts appear under a Page I called “Blog” I went to setting > reading and saw the option to select my Blog page for Posts Page but in order to do that I need to also select the home page as the front page. But since this theme’s front page isn’t a Page, per se, how can I add it as a Page so I select it in this menu?

  • What do you mean with: “isn’t a Page, per se”? It is..
You can select, as front page, you last posts and then you cannot have a blog page for posts page (unless you build it on your own) and a static page, which is a page per se…

I wish I could attached a screenshot here. I am in the dropdown in Settings > Reading > Front Page Displays. There are two options: Your Latest Posts and A Static front page. I need to chose the latter. My options for Front Page does not include the home page. It only includes the pages I made (bio, recipes, store, blog, etc.). For Posts page, I can chose the Blog page. But how can I make the Front page the home page? Does this make sense?

Mmm, one among us is missing something ??
Look, go to Appearance -> Customize -> Content: home, posts … -> Front Page.
    Front Page displays:
    – Don’t show any posts or page
    – Your latest posts
    – A static page

If you select “A static page” (which is the same of “There are two options: Your Latest Posts and A Static front page. I need to chose the latter” ) you can chose a page you made, a static front page is an actual page.

So what I’m not understanding is this point: But how can I make the Front page the home page?..

Okay, yea we are in different locations. If I am in the location you are talking about, I want to keep the home page how it is in the theme. I want to keep it as “Don’t show any posts or page” because it seems the only option that keeps the home page as is (how the theme is made, which I love). I just want to make the “Posts page” my “Blog” page (that I made). It seems I can’t do both simultaneously. Does that clear anything up?

Thank you for your help so far, by the way!

Oh… I see what you mean now..
    Well I think it’s a wp issue.
I just tried with twentyfifteen to see the normal wordpress behavior. You’re forced to show something on the front page. If you don’t select anything then the latest posts are shown. So “show the latest recent post” is the default option if you don’t select otherwise, and in this case you cannot have also a Posts Page.
    So what you can do..
You can build an empty page, calling it Home, for example, and select it as a static front page, then you can also have the posts page.
    ..
Hope I’ve been clear .. and sorry for my previous misunderstandings ??
