Hi jamminjames have you enabled the Login Lockdown Options?

I think he is referring to that feature as well.

Instead of locking out for a certain time period by entering the amount of minutes, there should be a character that you can place in that field to permanently lock the ip if the criteria is met. say “0”

Yes @the Web Fix I understand what you mean. It makes sense. Perhaps this could be a feature added in a future release.

One of the pludin developers will look into this further and reply here.

    Thank you

The idea of selecting an amount of time is a great feature. It really takes into consideration that the brute force attempts coming from that IP may stop eventually. But as a community we have seen major abuse lately, which is not stopping or intermittent.

By adding an option on both logins and the 404 logs, to permanently block and IP and add it to the blacklist, it will be a huge advantage and I would think that everyone who uses this plugin will use that feature frequently

I came here just to suggest this.
Everyone who accessed as “admin” should be included in the blacklist.
    Would be excellent.

Yes, mbrsolution, I do have that enabled, but an option to add obvious hackers as a permanent addition to the blacklist would be very helpful. Doing it manually, by adding their ip’s is too much work. I hope the maker adds this option soon. Thanks.

Here’s an idea: On the User Login page, Failed Login Records tab, you could have an option in the Bulk Action dropdown to add checked ip’s to the Blacklist. This gives the user total control as to which to add, and makes it easy.

I would just like to point out that blocking those IP’s permanently is not an ideal solution, as most of them are fake. The hacker is using a fake IP to try to access your site and switches IP as soon as there is a lockout.
Blacklisting that IP is actually blacklisting some innocent who doesn’t even know about your site or may want/need to visit it at some future point.
