Add Gift pop-up keeps popping up even after a gift has been selected

  • I’m still seeing this issue and I’ve got the PRO version of the plugin installed.

    Basically, when the cart meets the criteria and the user is viewing the cart or checkout pages, the pop-up keeps appearing even after the user selects a free gift. Despite only being allowed 1 gift, it looks like the page refreshes and then the pop-up appears again, allowing the user to add an infinite number of free gifts to their cart.

    Also, it’s like the “No Thanks” button isn’t remembered either. If the user is on the cart page, clicks “No Thanks”, then the pop-up dismisses. But when they click on “Proceed to Checkout” which then takes them to the checkout page, the pop-up appears again. It should not appear after they’ve clicked on “No Thanks”.

    Because this was reportedly resolved in the other threads, I tried that solution first. I copied/pasted the file from the fix commit and the plugin just stopped working entirely (no errors on the front-end, the pop-up just didn’t appear at all when my cart met the criteria), so I reverted it back and it went back to doing this.

    Finally, I downloaded the entire repo and compared its files using BeyondCompare to the one I have installed and it appears that the version of the one in repo is 1.2.0 (and is clearly just the free version of the plugin) and I have 1.2.9 of the PRO version. So it’s obvious that the repo version isn’t even the latest version of the free plugin (1.2.3 – I have it installed but not activated because the PRO version is activated).

    Also, in my comparison of the free version 1.2.0 and 1.2.3, it is in the changelog (readme.txt) of the 1.2.3 version that the “Fix wcv3 gift loop issue (Fixes #22)” was written, but not in 1.2.0. This prompted me to check the changelog for the 1.2.9 PRO version, but there was no readme.txt file at all.

    Please help me resolve this issue as I have a client that would like to use it as soon as possible. Thank you.

    So I’m a front-end developer, but I know just enough PHP to make me dangerous.

    I compared the /lib/WFG_Frontend.class.php file from the free version 1.2.3 with my PRO version 1.2.9. I moved some important looking functions and stuff from the free version to the PRO version and it appears to be working correctly now on my dev environment.

    While it still shows the pop-up on the checkout page if the user selected “No Thanks” on the cart page, it at least prevents the infinite loop. The client and I can live with that for now.

    @ankitpokhrel I can happily give you my copy of this file for you to review and optimize (considering I just kind of mashed the files together) so that it can be made into a proper update because I don’t like having to edit other developer’s plugins.
