@doublesixx – The “Request-URI Too Long” would have me expect a plugin conflict. Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

You might also consider, trying our external Reset Tool plugin here: https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery-reset/get/default.zip

To install and activate, go to Plugins > Add New … Upload Plugin
To use, go to Tools > NextGEN Gallery Reset

We do not offer specific support for the Reset Tool plugin as is but it can help in many circumstances, please let us know if it does.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

Thank you. The problem is gone, since it was urgent I rolled back to a previous work version. 1.9.0. Have a good one.

    @cais,

Thanx. Seems like W3 Total Cache could have been responsible for the blank page.

Deactivated W3 Total Cache and a few hours later the I was able to see information. But still couldn’t upload.

Tiny images that were just a few k in size didn’t upload.

I’ll try over the week on a less significant server. Didn’t know of the reset tool.

    Have a great weekend.

OK, again, latest version of WordPress, and Photocrati.

So same results. The only links that work are Overview, Manage Galleries, Manage Tags.

    Still seeing Request-URI Too Long.

The reset tool hasn’t made any improvements.

I’ll wait a few hours to see what else happens.

Hi I have the same problem with WP 4.4.2 and NextGen Gallery 2.1.23.

I have about 10 website on the same server that use this combination between WP and Nextgen and they works correctly.

Only 1 website make me crazy because the “other options” link send me a blank page while other functions works correctly.

Now I’m trying to deactivate the plugins that are different from other website but ther result is the same.

I have tried also your reset tool but it’s not solving the problem.

    Found IT!!!!

Your plugin conflict with the pro version of Huge IT Video Gallery (10.0). When that plugin is deactivated I will see your “Other options” working and when Huge IT Video Gallery is active your “Other options” returns a blank page.

It is possible to solve this conflict quickly?

    Thank you very much.

There is another conflict with that plugin because when Huge IT Video Gallery is active the lightbox effect of Nextgen Gallery will be deactivated.

I would like to buy your plugin but if I do that you can solve this problem in a few days?

    Thank you very much.

Unfortunately with all other plug-ins deactivated and using the default theme I wasn’t able to upload pictures.

    Doesn’t seem 100 % compatible with WordPress 4.4.2.

@friz1980 – Unfortunately it is becoming more common for the Huge IT Gallery plugins to break NextGEN Gallery, there may not be anything we can do about that.

Thanks for sharing your findings on your issue. Have you reported them to the other plugin author as well?

    – Cais.

PS: If you have any further questions or concerns, please start your own topic so we can try to help you with your specific issue on your specific site. Thanks.

@doublesixx – This is not a compatibility issue with WordPress 4.4.2 and NextGEN Gallery, we literally have thousands of sites using that combination without issue. If it was a general incompatibility we would know about it simply due to the shear number of reports we would expect to see.

Please send us a Bug Report (https://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!

Hi everyone. Just to inform you all that Huge-IT Share Buttons Plugin let the “other page” to become blank too.

    (@photocrati)

@rublo – Unfortunately the HugeIT plugins do cause issues with NextGEN Gallery, I would recommend advising their author on this as well.

    Thanks!
