add gallery

I’m trying to add a gallery to one of my pages. All is good until…I pick the page, go to add media, select create gallery, check on the images I want from my media library and then click create gallery. It goes to edit gallery and all my images are there but when I click on insert gallery they don’t go on my page. What am I doing wrong?
