add field to cat table / modify retrieve function

  • hi,

    I need one more field in category table to manage my content.
    I read the template_function_category.php files but was a bit confused.
    As I want to “operate” as nicely as possible (don’t want to write ugly code un-implemented) does anyone can explain me where I should look to (and how I should do) :
    1 : Modify add data into cat table function
    2 : Modify retrieve date function (as the category_description() )
