ADD FEATURED IMAGE automatically Missing?

Hello Christina,

We changed that setting to be always on a while ago.

If you do not like the image which FV Player selected you can replace it with the image you like or you can remove the featured image. FV Player will then not set it for that post again.

Now we updated the documentation to not show that setting anymore, thank you for pointing it out.

Well in my case I WANT fv player to use the splash image for the featured image but it’s not picking it up.

currently I have pages that do not have the featured image set, but FV player is not picking up the splash image I set in the shortcode.

Here is an example of the code I am using (note it’s a private members are so I can’t show the actual file names)

[flowplayer src=’https://s3.amazonaws.com/folder/folder/videofile.mp4′ width=960 height=540? splash=https://s3.amazonaws.com/folder/folder/videoimage.jpg]

what do I need to do to tell FV player to pick up that image for the feature image?

UPDATE: I found the solution!

I just need to go into the page, make a slight adjustment, and save the page again and fv player is now picking up the splash image for the featured image.

It seems to me you probably needed to add ” quotes for the splash attribute.

Oh I thought my last post was clear.

here is what I did, I found the page where it wasn’t working. I edited the page and made a slight text edit to the page (any slight change. Like adding another sentence).
Then I just saved the page.

That somehow triggered FV player to pull in the featured image.

and it worked!

I didn’t really do anything except save my page again, I didn’t touch or change anything with FV player.

That’s weird, FV Player should run its Featured Image routines even on the first post save.

Please let us know if you published the post via the WordPress mobile app or any page builder. I wonder if using some of that could prevent the standard WordPress save_post action from running.

I might have updated the post/page via my iphone, I don’t use the WordPress mobile app. I do use the classic editor and the divi page builder.

I will have to do some more tests, because sometimes my fix works and sometimes it does not. I’ll let you know.
but I am super happy to know that the feature is built in!
