Add existing Google campaign
-
Hi all,
I have linked my Merchant Center account and my Google Ads account to the plugin. Now, I would like to have my existing Google Ads campaign to be visible in the plugin.
How could I achieve this? Thank you in advance.

Hi (@sukafia),
It has been more than a month now since I’ve got my pre-existing Campaigns listed in the plugin. The feed is successfully synced and so on.
Unfortunately since connecting to the plugin and the pre-existing Campaigns I am encountering another very serious problem: The conversion tag in Ads is not recording anymore: https://snipboard.io/YfT0ie.jpg
I have tried to set up this and a new conversion tag in GTM, but unfortunately it does not work.
How should I be able to resolve this?
Thank you in advance.
Hello @danijordan,
Thanks again for reaching out.
I understand you’re having issues with your conversion tag in Ads not recording after connecting to the plugin and your pre-existing campaigns.
The conversion tracking process works a little differently for each conversion source. I recommend going through the following guide for conversion tracking.
Let us know if you still need further assistance.
Hi @ckadenge,
Thank you for the reply.
I already went through these instructions and unfortunately it still doesn’t work.
Is it a known problem that a tag stops working when the plugin is reset?
Hey, @danijordan!
I already went through these instructions and unfortunately it still doesn’t work.
Have you checked this guide yet?
You mentioned you already tried to set it up again, just to confirm, you have followed this guide?
On your screenshot I see there’s a Troubleshooting link next to the tag, can you please tell us the information you found on that link?
Looking forward to your reply.
Have a wonderful day!
Hi @carolm29,
Roughly one month ago, we reinstalled this plugin. We tried following the installation steps in our woocommerce accounts, but there we have an error as well (see image attached)
Before this reset, the tracking was working correctly (google ads conversion tag was active and measuring conversion value). However, after the reset, the tag was no longer active.
Furthermore, we also see an error in the installation instructions for the google tag. In Google Ads we can’t seem to access the google tag as well. I have included screenshots from our Google?Ads account below.
Ideally, we want to implement conversion tracking via another plugin, only using ‘ Google Listings & Ads’ for product?feed purposes.?
Unfortunately, all google ads conversion tags are not working right now, because the google tag is causing an error. Can you let me know how to remove any tracking tags placed by the ‘ Google Listings & Ads’ plugin?

?? hey @danijordan

Kindly note, Google Listings & Ads supports these extensions.
Among them, WooCommerce Google Analytics?– compatibility for analytics tracking code and conversion events.
I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.
Hi @anastas10s,
Thank you for the reply.
I have read this information on Woocommerce.com:
“What conversion actions does Google Listings & Ads track?
When you create a campaign through the extension, Google Listings & Ads automatically sets up the following conversion actions for you:
-Purchases
-All Pages (Page View)
-Product Page
-Add to Cart button
-Cart PageWhile there are several different types of conversion actions created, the only one that Google Listings & Ads assigns a conversion value to on setup is the “Purchases” action. Meaning your Performance Max Campaigns are set up to drive as much value from purchases as they can within the budget that you set.”
I don’t want to have a conversion tag made from the plugin anymore. I would like to make my own tag via GTM. All conversion tags I make via GTM seem to be blocked by the conversion tag from the plugin.
Could I achieve this by clicking on Disconnect from Google Ads account only? Since my Google Ads account is linked to the MC account, what could go wrong here do you think? What is this button for anyway?
This tag had been made by the plugin: https://snipboard.io/UzCMRo.jpg
After I disconnected all accounts from the plugin and connected them again this tag stopped recording. Why did it become unmanageable? I think this non working tag is preventing me to use GTM.
How can I remove this tag made by the plugin and start recording with my own tags via GTM? Will the Disconnect from Google Ads account only help to achieve this?
If deletion is not possible, how can the tag become active again and start recording?
Friendly reminder.
Hi @danijordan
Thanks for your patience. The conversion tag in Ads is not recording anymore
I understand the Google Listings & Ads conversion tracking stopped working. To confirm:
- Did you make any significant changes to your site before this? e.g. adding another tracking tag, changing your site theme, or adding new plugins, etc.
- Does your site serve the EU? Google recently introduced consent mode, a GDPR requirement in which users must consent through a cookie notice before tracking is activated. This is a requirement for sites serving the EEA that started on March 6 and we implemented this in Google Listings & Ads in v2.6.1 – 2024-03-05. If you’re serving the EU, please confirm if you’re offering a way for users to consent to tracking.
Please share your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Download for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please upload it https://quickforget.com/ and share the link here.
How can I remove this tag made by the plugin and start recording with my own tags via GTM? Will the Disconnect from Google Ads account only help to achieve this?
This isn’t recommended and we currently don’t offer a way to disable the plugin’s tracking. To clarify, the tracking was implemented to track the performance of ads created through the plugin. Disabling it would impact ad campaigns.
