Add excerpt and tags to event submission form

    Hi,
    I saw a post somewhere on this forum previously, and now cannot seem to find it, regarding how to add an excerpt field to the event submission form.

    Also, I would like to add tags to the submission form, and saw the couple of items you have in your pastebin relating to tags, but I cannot seem to get them to work.

    for the form with tags, I am sure I used the correct directories in my child theme for the template. For the snippet to show tags on the event form, it says to put it in mu-plugins/function.php. However, when I do this the snippet just shows in the site header.

    I tried putting the snippet in functions.php in my child theme but it did not do anything.

    Additionally, I do not seem to be able to add categories using the front-end form and I am logged in as an admin with all privileges.

    How can I:
    1. Add the excerpt to the submission form.
    2. Add tags to the submission form.
    3. Add the ability for front-end users to create new categories and tags.

    unfortunately, we do not have the snippet to add the 3 items above when using the front-end event submission form.

    OK, thanks for the reply.

    so I thought that I could add tags to the submission form. That form was not working for me, though.

    This is listed as resolved, may I ask what the resolve was? I am trying to have the event tags show up on my event submission form as well and the code didn’t work for me either.

    It wasn’t really resolved, in that I found a solution. The “resolve” was the response above that there is no snippet to do that. I finally gave up and went on to something else. If someone has successfully put a tag field on their event submission form, I’d like to know how.

    Bummer. That’s what I thought. Thanks for responding.
