Hi, i love this plugin. I’m trying to develop a smooth workflow for users to encode their own vids and one problem i’ve always had is that when i encode vids with this plugin they don’t appear in the media library properly. the behavior is rather odd …

when i upload video.avi and encoded it successfully i have to force the media library to refresh somehow, usually this requires closing and reopening it, at which point video-480.mp4 will appear but the “video embed and thumb gen” options are not available. All that is available are the wordpress standard choices of “embed or link” …

i then must use the add from server plugin to add video-480.mp4 to the library, at which point there are 2 of them, 1 with only “embed or link” options, and the other with full “video embed and thumb gen” options, that work great. at this point i can generate a thumbnail and embed the video just fine, the only other problem being that the “embed or link” version controls the title that is displayed on the embed.
its confusing i know, but in a nutshell –
One must always use add from server to bring the encoded vids into the media library. how to make this happen automatically?
    any ideas are appreciated
    thank you.

The plugin is designed to treat the originally uploaded video as a master collection of media. If you’ve encoded the video-480.mp4 file, it is added to the media library as a child of the original file. You can embed the video.avi attachment and video-480.mp4 should automatically show up when the page is rendered.
