Hi there! I’m using Forminator and I’ve created an ‘Select’ dropdown field, but when you select an option and then change your mind and want to deselect, that is not possible anymore. I only can imagine to add a first option with not really an option but placeholder text like ‘Make a choice’, but is that the only way to create that or is there an easy option to automatically add an ‘default/empty’ option? Thanks!

    Hi @jannnnnneke

    I hope you’re well today!

There isn’t “automatic” default/empty option currently.

The way to go here is exactly what you already came up with – just add additional option with some “Make a choice” or similar text. Or, if you want it to be really “empty” you’d still need to add an option but in its label (label, not value – value must be filled-in!) instead of the text you would simply put this:

That’s so-called “hard space” – so just a hard-coded blank character. It would make the line selectable but empty.

Of course you can also mark the option as “default”.

    Best regards,
    Adam
